Last month, I wrote about how it is important to keep your health a priority, as the holiday season approaches..
Too often, we hold ourselves to all or nothing standards… we have to be perfect with our eating and fitness habits — if we give-in to one treat, or miss one workout, all bets are off until the new year, the next month, next week, etc.
The following excuses and negative thoughts, tend to rear their ugly heads during this season:
I already blew it (Thanksgiving food coma, too many holiday treats at home or in the office, etc.)
I don’t have time — I’m too busy, and have too much to do.
I’ll just wait until January 1st **How many years in a row have you said that?
These are toxic — you don’t have to be perfect with your eating and workouts, especially during the holidays (that come once a year)! However, you also don’t have to throw caution to the wind, indulge in every temptation, give-in to excuses and toxic thoughts, and be left feeling guilty, or discouraged! You need to remember you’re human (imperfect by nature)… you can enjoy some festive treats and activities, but also stick to an overall healthy eating regimen, and exercise routine — it’s the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!!!
