New Year's Resolutions & Common Fears/ Hesitations

According to

  • 1/3 of Americans make a New Year’s resolution to better themselves in some way

  • 25% don’t see it through the first week

  • less than 46% are still on target 6 months down the road

Have you ever made a fitness related New Year’s resolution? Did you see it through?

Do you plan on making one this year? Do you have a plan of action, to help you stick with it?

Have you ever considered/ contemplated personal training? Do you have fears or reservations?

If YOU, or someone you know, can answer yes, to any of the above questions, this post is for you!

One of the most common reasons, I hear, regarding people’s hesitation, or reservation, to work with a personal trainer, is money!

Yes, it costs money, but there are countless health benefits (physical and mental) of doing so, that can change (and improve) your life! Think of it as an investment in your health & well-being, not just another expense. Working with a trainer can help you develop life-long habits and skills that help you improve your quality life, and provides you with a personal, and reliable, health & fitness resource. Not to mention, motivation, accountability, goal-setting (& crushing!), and so much more!

Additional options, that cut the cost, include: partner or small group training, and online training.

Feelings of doubt, insecurity, and uncertainty also tend to cause hesitation, and reservation, regarding working with personal trainers.

Those are all reasons why trainers do what they do! Personally, I want to challenge those negative feelings, and help my clients prove, to themselves, that they are so much stronger and capable than they give themselves credit for! However, I am honest and realistic — there are no quick fixes! Fitness & health is a process… it takes time and effort, but it does get easier, and if you don’t give up, you will see (and experience) progress, and all the joy and positivity that comes with it! Each client is unique, which means each journey/ process is unique — that’s one of the coolest parts of my job, as a trainer! I get to create unique workouts and programs that fit, and match, each individuals goals, needs, and abilities!

Time, is the other reason, I hear often…

I totally get being busy, and being pulled in 100 different directions! However, when something is important enough, to me, I find that I am able to make time (even when other things seem more desirable/ appealing)…

When it comes to training, there are lots of options, to help accommodate crazy schedules:

  • early morning sessions (before work or the other hundred things on your to-do list/ schedule)

  • lunch break sessions

  • evening sessions (after work and/or all the extra curricular activities of your kids)

  • late morning sessions (for retirees, moms, those with less traditional work schedules)

  • online training (for ANYTIME of day/night that is most convenient for you!)

  • in-home or office sessions (have the gym & workout brought straight to you!)

  • 30, 45, 60 min. session options

Obviously, personal training is something I am passionate about! If I can be of any help to you, or someone you know, please don’t hesitate to reach out, ask questions, etc.! Helping people is what I love to do!

Happy Monday! Take care!
